Now you're talking!! You hit the nail right on the head and you didn't pull any punches or white wash it with a bunch of nonsense. I went for a nice ride this morning by myself and enjoyed cranking it up to 75 on a long easy hill, but that was just a burst. I would not want to try to maintain that speed for long.
This forum is full of very helpful 'fix-it' stuff from guys like you, but it also seems to be full of a lot of people in a mutual support group to convince themselves they're happy with something that they're not that happy with.
I get a great kick out of some of the posts that go something like: "Hi, my name is Shaquille O'neil and I was wondering if the Savage might be right for me?" Oh, yea, Shaq, you'll have a blast...size doesn't matter. You don't need to go to Jesse James and have one custom built for you.
